Visualize in your mind a blue-sky day with wisps of clouds. When you feel clear, we can begin.

It is a starry wintry night, where you walk quite safely in a well-manicured park, just enjoying being out in the crisp night air and with your thoughts. The healing silence and the stark beauty of winter give you a sense of peace. Is there anybody else around or are you alone?

You have numerous events and activities that need your time and/or money. Are you stretched too thin or maybe haven’t given enough? Do you have it to give? Are you giving away too much? Or have you become complacent only concerned for yourself all the time?

A snowy owl hoots nearby. You look up to see her/him almost pointing with their left wing at something. You get off the paved path and go gently through the pine trees. There is a shiny object hidden in one of the trees. As you inhale the smell of pine, you see a small scale. As you pick it up, how does it feel to you? Is it cold like the winter air or warm to your touch? The scaled has six pentacles etched into its base.

“For yooou,” hoots the owl.

You pick up the scales. By touching the scales, your energy will show the six of pentacles what you honestly feel in your heart. Which way do the scales go for you? A bit lopsided, completely even or favoring one side more? Stay as long as you need to with the six of pentacles to understand where you are in your life.

When you are finished, place it back where you found it so the owl can lead another person to the scales. Now, return to the paved path and count slowly to six. Before you know it, you are back in your reality.

How was the experience with the six of pentacles? Did you find what you needed with the six, or perhaps did it go deeper than you expected? For the next weeks, consider your practice of giving and see how wisely it meshes with your current place in life. As always, reflect and write your thoughts in your Tarot Journal.
