Today, a two-card spread on the nature of war and peace.

1) What is war?

KING OF WANDS, REVERSED. War is a misdirected or misguided release of masculine energy by leaders who are too immature to use it responsibly.

2) What is peace?

KING OF PENTACLES, UPRIGHT. Peace is the crown of groundedness, a willingness to share all resources with all beings, based upon a detachment from worldly sources of security. Peace is good stewardship of the Earth and all that lives and grows upon Her.

I find it interesting that another King turned up. It's almost as though the Tarot wanted to repeat the King of Wands, but in an upright position, to say, "the opposite of that first guy." Perhaps two decks would have been in order.
