Fall is upon us! For those areas of the country that have had super hot temperatures, hopefully the end is in sight! Where I live, the temperatures have been cooler than normal with only 47 days of 90 degrees or higher rather than the usual 60 days. I can't believe how fast the year has flown by! Our hearts and prayers go out to all who are being plagued by floods, severe weather and fires! May all be calm and well again as soon as possible!
As it is the season of harvest... gathering the fruits of labor endured so far this year, I can't help but think about my own harvest. What goals did I set for myself this year? Interestingly, my focus is on the endpoint or what I am expecting to accomplish through my efforts, seemingly without regard to how I am getting to that point. I can't help but think that maybe I could have focused more on the "how" I get to my goal rather than the goal itself. Not just the "how" for me, but the "how" is perceived by others. In our physical world, we are very visually oriented. We learn by the examples we observe as we live our lives as much as we learn from explicitly being taught or our explicit learning through other means. As we work toward our goals, how we get there is as important... maybe more important than the actual getting there. Have we set a good example in the eyes of others? Have we been true to our path and what we say our path is, or have we said one thing and done another? Food for thought, for sure.
On a happier note, congratulations are in order for the winner of our August Contest with the correct guess of "the chariot" card from the new sun and moon tarot (please note I am using the lowercase and selective bolding used by the deck--so not a typo or formatting mistake!) by Vanessa Decort.
Congratulations to Mike Young of Buena Park, California USA!
We think our contributors are setting great examples by filing a lot of great things to read in this issue, and we hope you think so, too! I'd also like to take the opportunity to welcome a new contributor, Frances! Enjoy the issue!
