Mysterious Musings
Madame Athame, CTPHD / ASAP / PDQ

Madame Athame is a mysterious will-o-the-wisp who offers tongue-in-cheek readings that are meant to be taken as such. They are by no means a lesson in how to read the tarot for real clients.

Warning: If you are humor-impaired, the Reiki Master General strongly advises you not to read Madame Athame's column.

Q: Dear Madame Athame,

Here in Athena's Gulch, there's a man name of Harry. Harry has a reputation for going on the odd hoochie-bender and bedding just about any female with a pulse. Rumor has it he might even have underworld connections. In spite of all that, Harry oozes sex-appeal and I'm head-over-heels in lust with him. Hell, I don't want to marry the brute, just see what all the hoo-haw is about. What's the appeal for me, Madame Athame? And what are my chances?
Fanny Sunshine

A: My dear Fanny,

I don't know, girl...I guess a man is like pizza. When he's good, he's extremely good, but when he's bad, he's still OK. Anyway, honey, I've pulled some cards from the Voyager Tarot deck to check out the situation. Here goes:
1) What's Fanny's unconscious motivation for wanting to be with Harry?

SAGE OF CUPS (Regenerator).

You're just looking for a little pick-me-up, darlin'. Part of you (hmm...which part?) needs to feel likes it's had a good old vacation in Hawaii, and this is your way of living it out.

2) What's Fanny's conscious motivation for wanting to be with Harry?

10 OF CRYSTALS (Delusion).

You're daring yourself to see if all the rumors are true. Your sex life is an arid wasteland and any man is better than nothing. Oh yeah?!

3) What are Fanny's chances of consummating this desire?

SIX OF WORLDS (Synergy).

Wow, looks good, kiddo! Get ready to put the "sin" in "synergy". Enjoy!

Best of luck,

Madame Athame
